Live Broadcasting in CentovaCast Without Auto-DJ
Some broadcasters prefer to stream directly from their own computer rather than relying on Auto-DJ.
This method allows you to keep all music, playlists, and live hosting tools stored locally
and broadcast everything in real time through an encoder.
With this setup, your station operates entirely as a live broadcast.
All audio playback, microphone input, and show control are handled from your computer
while connected directly to the CentovaCast server.
This also removes the need to configure Auto-DJ, allowing you to go live quickly.
Encoder Software Options
Live streaming is performed using encoder applications.
Below are some commonly used free encoder tools:
- Rocket Broadcaster (Windows)
- BUTT – Broadcast Using This Tool (Windows, macOS)
- LadioCast (macOS)
Any encoder that supports Shoutcast or Icecast connections can be used with CentovaCast.
Note: Streaming directly from an encoder requires a reliable internet connection.
If your connection is unstable, we recommend using Auto-DJ with a DJ account instead,
as Auto-DJ can continue broadcasting if your live connection drops.
Preparing CentovaCast for Live Encoder Connections
Start by logging in to your CentovaCast control panel.
Your login credentials are typically sent via email, and you may also access CentovaCast
through the Client Area.
Before connecting an encoder, Auto-DJ must be turned off.
Disabling Auto-DJ
Auto-DJ is enabled by default on most accounts, so it must be disabled for live-only streaming.
To disable Auto-DJ, navigate to:
CentovaCast → Configuration → Settings → Auto-DJ → Permitted and Disabled
Once Auto-DJ is disabled, the Auto-DJ menu will no longer appear in the left-hand navigation panel.
Starting the Streaming Server
After Auto-DJ has been disabled, start your streaming service by navigating to:
CentovaCast → Server → Start
Your server will now be online and ready to accept incoming live connections from an encoder.
Connecting Your Encoder to the Stream
Next, enter your stream connection details into your encoder software.
For example, in Rocket Broadcaster, these settings can be found under:
Rocket Broadcaster → Broadcast → Streams
To locate your exact connection credentials in CentovaCast, go to:
CentovaCast → General → Quick Links → Auto-DJ is not running

Final Notes:
Live-only streaming without Auto-DJ provides full real-time control but relies heavily
on a stable internet connection. For added reliability, consider combining live broadcasting
with Auto-DJ as a fallback option.
