Step-by-Step Instructions to Configure Auto-DJ in CentovaCast
Auto-DJ is the easiest and most reliable way to launch your online radio station.
It acts as an automated broadcast system that you fully control, allowing you to
manage music rotations, schedules, and continuous playback without manual intervention.
With Auto-DJ enabled, your station can remain online 24 hours a day.
You can also connect a live encoder at any time if you wish to host live programs
or special broadcasts for your audience.
Activating Auto-DJ
In most cases, Auto-DJ is switched on automatically when your CentovaCast account is created.
However, if it is disabled for any reason, you can enable it manually from the control panel.
To activate Auto-DJ, navigate to:
CentovaCast → Configuration → Settings → Auto-DJ → Permitted and Enabled
Once enabled, an Auto-DJ menu will appear in the main navigation panel on the left side of CentovaCast.
Uploading Audio Files to Auto-DJ
There are two ways to upload music into Auto-DJ.
While both methods work, FTP uploads are recommended for larger files or bulk transfers,
as they are not affected by browser limitations such as timeouts or speed restrictions.
Uploading Music Using the CentovaCast File Manager
To upload files directly through CentovaCast, go to:
CentovaCast → Auto-DJ → Files
This will open the Auto-DJ file manager, where you can browse folders, create directories,
and upload audio files.
Open the folder you want to upload your music to (commonly named media),
then click the Upload button located at the bottom of the page.
In the upload window, select files from your computer using the Select Files option.
The upload process will begin automatically once files are chosen.
Uploading Music via FTP (Recommended)
FTP uploading is the preferred method for transferring large music libraries.
It provides faster, more stable uploads without the restrictions of browser-based tools.
To upload using FTP, you will need an FTP client such as FileZilla,
although any standard FTP application will work.
Your FTP login details are the same as your CentovaCast account credentials.
Below is a sample configuration:
| Connection Field | Example Value |
|---|---|
| Hostname | cast1.my-control-panel.com |
| Username | alex |
| Password | alexspassword |
| Port | 21 |
Tip: When using FileZilla, the port number can be left blank, as it will be assigned automatically.
After entering your details, connect to the server and upload your audio files
into the desired directory.
Assigning Music to Auto-DJ Playlists
Once your music has been uploaded, it must be added to playlists before Auto-DJ can play it.
This is done through the Media Manager.
Navigate to:
CentovaCast → Auto-DJ → Media
Here you will see the Auto-DJ Media Manager interface.
Simply drag and drop tracks or entire albums into the playlists listed on the left side.
You can create different playlist types, including scheduled rotations, advertisement slots,
jingles, and custom programming blocks.
Starting Auto-DJ
After your playlists have been configured, you can start Auto-DJ by going to:
CentovaCast → Auto-DJ → Start
Once started, your radio station will begin broadcasting automatically using the playlists you created.
Your stream is now live and delivering audio to listeners.
